Private Bert Powers died on Friday 21st December 1917 at the age of 26 and is buried in Newark Cemetery. He originally joined the Lincolnshire Regiment but later became a member of the Labour Corps.

Private William Mills was born in Barnby-in-the-Willows in 1888, the eldest son of Thomas and Alice Mills. He served in the 4th Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers and was killed by a sniper on Friday 15 September 1916 in the Battle of the Somme.

Private Walter Parish served with the 2nd Battalion, South Staffordshire Regiment and was killed on the 28 April 1917.
