Carburton St Giles

Glass

East Window

The stained glass window has deteriorated badly.

A decorative brass plaque on the north wall of the chancel states:

IN MEMORY OF LOUISE BLANCHE THE BELOVED WIFE OF CECIL GEORGE
SAVILE FOLJAMBE OF COCKGLODE AND ELDEST DAUR OF FREDERICK JOHN
AND LADY FANNY HOWARD, SHE DIED 7 OCT. 1871 AGED 29, AND IS LAID
WITH HER 2ND SON IN THE VAULT AT SCOFTON, NOTTS. THE EAST WINDOW OF
THIS CHURCH IS ERECTED BY HER SORROWING HUSBAND.

West Window

The window depicts 'The Sower' in the left light and Ruth in the right one. The inscription at the foot of the window reads:

To the Glory of God and
in Sacred Memory of
My Parents John and Jane Field

And other of My Ancestors who
lie interred in this Churchyard
Erected by Mary J Arthur 1938
