For this church:
East Drayton St Peter
The clock is in the western tower
Installed in 1898 at a cost of £1200 raised by the villagers, to celebrate the jubilee of Queen Victoria
Mechanism by John Smith & Sons of Derby. Gravity strike on the hour only - struck on the tenor bell
Dials to the south and east. Black roman numerals and hands on a white face below the belfry windows
Automatic electric winding conversion in 2000
In 1916 the Rev Wilkinson, writing to his successor, said that the mechanism should be cleaned at least every four years. There had been a dispute with some parishioners over the winding, and he had threatened to stop the clock unless they agreed to pay.
