1.Tablet on the north wall of the tower.

The inscription reads:

IN MEMORY
OF
WILLIAM WATSON ESQRE
A Kind Hufband
Tender Father
And
Faithful Friend
WHO
After a Long
And
Painful Illness
Which He Bore
With
Chriftian Constancy
DIED APRIL the 12th
In the Year of Our Lord 1755
And of His Age the 61

Below is a further inscription:

Also of
MARY his WIFE
Who died July 1784
In the 84 Year of her Age

2.Tablet on the wall of the north aisle, to the right of the north doors.

The tablet is made of marble, mounted on slate. The inscription reads:

IN MEMORY OF
RICHARD MILWARD ESQUIRE
LATE OF HEXGRAVE PARK,
IN THE COUNTY OF NOTTINGHAM,
WHO DIED AUGUST XVI, MDCCCXLIV,
AGED LX.

KIND, GENEROUS AND EVER READY
TO DO GOOD,
HE DIED DEEPLY LAMENTED.
THE LORD ORDERETH A GOOD MAN'S
GOINGS, AND MAKETH HIS WAY
ACCEPTABLE TO HIMSELF.

THIS TABLET WAS ERECTED
AS A TOKEN OF AFFECTIONATE REGARD
BY HIS SISTER, FRANCES MILWARD.

 

3.Two tablets on the north wall of the church in the west end room.

The larger stone is approximately 24" by 14" and reads:

Near this Place
lie the Remains of
CORNELIUS HUTHWAITE
who departed this Life
the 27th day of September
MDCCXCVII
Aged 61 Years

Below is an oval stone, approximately 11" by 9", which reads:

Also
MARY his Wife
Who departed this life
May 31ft A:D 1814.
Aged 75

Note: these may have been removed since 2000 to enable an electric service cupboard to be formed. Their present location is not known.

4.Tablet loose leaning against the south wall in the bell-ringing chamber.

It measures approximately 30" by 20" and is of marble or stone, mounted on stone. The inscription reads:

SACRED
to the Memory of
JOHN THOMAS BRAMLEY FOOTTIT
Son of
THE REVd JAMES FOOTTIT B.A.
Vicar of this Place
And ELIZABETH his Wife
Who died Novr 8th 1839.
AGED 21 YEARS

5.Tablet on the south wall of the chancel.

Faculty approval was granted in 1929. The inscription reads:

TO THE GLORY OF GOD
AND IN REMEMBRANCE OF
THE REVD ROBERT ALEXANDER McKEE, M.A.
FORTY YEARS VICAR OF THIS PARISH.
1882 - 1922
ENTERED INTO REST FEBRUARY 19th 1926.
AGED 78 YEARS.
HONORARY CANON OF RAMPTON.
RURAL DEAN OF SOUTHWELL.
THIS TABLET WAS ERECTED BY PARISHIONERS AND FRIENDS

6.Tablet on the east wall of the tower in the church.

Faculty permission was granted in 1935. It reads:

THESE CHURCH BELLS WERE RE-HUNG
IN MEMORY OF
LAURANCE NAYLOR HODGSON-WILSON
LATE LIEUT. R.A. OF HEXGREAVE PARK
FARNSFIELD. DIED 18 OCT 1933. AGED 47.

This tablet was placed here by his
family and parishioners

7.Brass plate on the wooden screen at the west end of the church that reads:

WALTER STRAW
Churchwarden 1901 - 1941

8.Brass plate on a wooden board on the wall of the north aisle.

The inscription reads:

TO MARK THE MILLENIUM

Frank Reynolds and Sheila Davies
donated the floodlighting of the Church.

Raymond and Madeleine Allington
donated the clock faces on the South
and West sides of the tower.

Members of the Congregation
and friends of St. Michael's
worked over 100 kneelers.

Members of the Just sew group
worked the Millennium Quilt.

Farnsfield Scouts prepared
a time capsule, which is
in the Church Tower.

This plaque was erected by the
Farnsfield Millennium Trust.
