Chancel

The south wall of the sanctuary has a fine early 14th century monument of a priest with chalice, comprising a demi-figure set into a quatrefoil with triangular crocketed hood mould and finial over.

In the north part of the sanctuary is an early 14th century effigy of a priest with his head on a diagonally placed pillow held by two angels.

A memorial to the Reverend Joshua Brooke is located above the door in the south wall of the chancel.

WHO WAS THIRTY-NINE YEARS RECTOR OF THIS PARISH,
HE DIED MARCH 12TH. 1851,
AGED 90 YEARS.

HE WAS THE YOUNGEST SON OF
THE REV. SAMUEL BROOKE, M.A.
FELLOW OF TRIN, COLL, CAMBRIDGE,
WHO WAS ALSO RECTOR OF THIS PARISH
FROM THE YEAR 1743, TO 1778.

Directly opposite on the north wall of the chancel is a monument to his wife, Sarah:

South aisle

In the south aisle is an alabaster monument dating from c.1400 of a knight in chain mail with sword and shield, probably Sir Bertram Monboucher.

A wall monument in the south aisle to John and Eleanor Bailey, 1828, is surmounted by an urn.

Sacred to the Memory of
JOHN BAILEY, Gentleman,
late of this Parish,
who departed this Life May 11th 1828,
Aged 60 Years.
This Tablet is erected
by his affectionate Widow, ELEANOR BAILEY,
to commemorate his kindness as a Friend,
his affection as a Husband,
and his industry and faithfulness in the
discharge of his duties through life.

Also of
ELEANOR BAILEY,
Relict of the above
who died October 8th 1849,
in her 84th year.

There is also a fragment of floor slab in memory of the Reverend John Henry Ott, who had served as librarian at Lambeth Palace from 1718. Son of John Baptist Ott, Archdeacon of Zurich and a native Swiss, he also held the living at Cromwell. He lived in Gamston until his death at the relatively early age of 50 in September 1743.

There is a plain tablet to George and Mary Admigall and Thomas Barker, 1801:

Afflictions fore long Time I bore,
Physicians were in vain;
Till God above in tender Love,
Did ease me of my Pain.

Sacred to the Memory of
Mary Admigall, Relict of the aforesaid
George Admigall,
who departed this Life the 28th Day of
Feby 1807; in the 79th Year
of her Age.

Remember Friends as you pass by,
As you are now so once was I;
But as I am so must you be,
Therefore prepare to follow me.

Thomas Barker
Died the 4th day of March 1808
Aged 40 Years.
