Font Pulpit

Font

The plain octagonal font dates from the 14th century. The font cover was presented by Enoch Bostock, a verger from 1887 to 1912.

Pulpit

The panelled square oak pulpit was placed in the church in 1906 by the parishioners in memory of the Rev. J. E. Phillips, vicar from 1879 to 1904.

Mosaics

The church contains three 'opus sectile' mosaic panels made by the stained-glass firm of James Powell & Sons. The panels were commissioned and funded by the Rev Canon J. H. Godber between 1897 and 1905.

Panel at the west end of the north aisle wall, portraying the return of the Prodigal Son. Text on the scroll reads: “Father I have sinned against Heaven and before Thee.” (1898)

Chancel

Piscina and Sedilia

Piscina and sedilia

On the south side of the chancel are the 13th century piscina and sedilia with 20th century crest and surround. They were moved eastwards from their original position when the chancel was dismantled and rebuilt in 1887-8.
