The churchyard is surrounded by trees and the Kingston Brook. During springtime daffodils abound with other spring flowers. There are only a few grave-markers visible today although there must the usual large number of unmarked, pre-Victorian burials from the earlier church. There are many families buried, some in plots and some have memorials of similar pattern and stone.

The Strutt family graves are buried on the north-east corner of the church with more on the north side.

The southern edge has a Commonwealth war grave to Ian Hill, an airman, killed in the Second World War. Many graves provide a record of families who lived and worked in the village for most of their lives.

The lychgate is inscribed:

THIS GATE WAS ERECTED BY THE INHABITANTS OF THE PARISH
IN COMMEMORATION OF THE CORONATION OF KING EDWARD VII 1902
