Organ Organ console

The organ console is situated in the chancel under an arched opening and the organ pipes are in the room behind this. The organ console is made of a light coloured wood. There are two rows of keys and 30 long pedals underneath. On the left is a sign saying ‘SWELL’ with 8 stops under it, and on the right a sign saying ‘GREAT’ has 6 stops under it and ‘PEDAL’ has two more.

A small sign on the right of the console reads:

According to the Mansfield Chronicle of 29 June 1906, the organ in St John’s at the time of its opening was the same one as had been used in the old church.
