Monuments and Memorials

Re-set into the north wall there is an incised cross slab.

Also in the north wall there is a restoration memorial inscribed:

To the Greater Glory of God in in pious memory of
Penelope Turton
the nave of this church was restored and the
east window beautified according to the
will of her son
William Parsons Turton BA
for 47 years Vicar of Maplebeck
Requiesant in pace

In the chancel, there are three monumental slabs. The one nearest the altar states

In memory of Mary,
wife of James Key,
who died April 4th 1844,
In the 64rd year of Her age.

The slab next to that is obscured by the pews and organ and only the word ‘Anne’ can be distinguished.

Closest to the altar rails is another with only the words ‘in memory of John’ visible.
