The organ

The origin of the Organ in uncertain. No maker’s name appears on any part if the instrument. It was bought second-hand but no record of a purchase can be found in the Parochial Church Council minutes, the earliest of which date from 29th August 1917. A record of tuning is recorded in minutes dated 28th March 1928.

The instrument is described as:

a 2 manual, mechanical tracker action pipe organ, with 10 ranks of pipes, normal couplers and an electric blower.

The electric blower was fitted in 1951 and its last major clean and overhaul was undertaken in 1989.
