Stonework

The porch and south side of the church are of Lower Jurassic grey limestone. The buttresses are of Triassic sandstone, probably from Sneinton or Gedling quarries. Ancaster sandstone from the middle Jurassic period is used for the repairs to buttresses. The north aisle and chancel are built of Derbyshire millstone grit and carboniferous sandstone. The bell tower and upper part of the porch is of brick.
