In October 2015, a Pastoral Scheme was brought into being whereby part of the Parish of Annesley with Newstead was transferred to the Parish of Ravenshead, and as a consequence, responsibility for the Abbey Chapel was assumed by the Vicar of Ravenshead. The Scheme further provided for the union of the benefice of St John the Evangelist, Kirkby Woodhouse, and the benefice of Annesley with Newstead. (The churches served by this new benefice are Annesley All Saints, Newstead St Mary the Virgin and Kirkby Woodhouse St John the Evangelist).
