Edwinstowe St Mary
Bells
Three bells are mentioned in Terriers of 1662, 1752, & 1781.
The old ring was inscribed:
| 1 and 2 |
THOMAS HEDDERLY FOUNDER Roger Oldham C.W. 1752 |
| 3 |
GOD SAVE THE CHURCH 1662 5CWT |
There
is no record of their size. The tenor was probably the work of George Oldfield.(Church
Bells of Nottinghamshire)
They were recast and augmented to 6 bells in 1871 by Mears & Stainbank,
Whitechapel, London, with public subscription.
