A metal plaque has been recently added to commemorate the village's First World War dead. It reads:

At the east end of the south aisle is a display cabinet with a hinged glass-panelled lid containing a Book of Remembrance. The small brass plaque attached to the top of the cabinet lid reads:

AGED 25 YEARS
KILLED AT THE SIEGE OF MALTA G.C.
BELOVED HUSBAND OF MARY NEE PULMAN

Private Charles Parker Davies of the Royal Army Pay Corps was killed on 2 April 1942 during the siege of Malta.

Also in the south aisle is a plaque in memory of two RAF aircrews who were killed when their aircraft collided over Screveton on 14 April 1944. The inscription reads:

In Memory of
the crews of the two Royal Air Force aircraft
who lost their lives in the mid-air collision
above Screveton at 16.30 hours on Friday April 14th 1944

Above the upper inscription is the badge of the Machine Gun Corps; above the lower inscription is the badge of the Royal Garrison Artillery.
