Bilsthorpe St MargaretBells
The Inventory of Church Goods compiled in 1552 showed Bilsthorpe church to possess two bells.
This remains the situation, but the present bells have replaced those present in 1552, both cast and hung to grace the newly rebuilt tower in 1663. They are as follows:

1 |
GOD SAVE THE KING 1663 |
26.25" |
2 |
GOD SAVE HIS CHVRCH 1663 |
29" |
Both bells were cast by George (I) Oldfield of Nottingham. The low-sided wooden bell frame has dilapidated wooden headstocks and plain bearings. It is a V truss type for 3 bells, but it has only ever carried two.
