Daybrook St PaulWar Memorial
The
First World War memorial was designed by Comper. (It is not known whether it
was Sir Ninian or his son.) It was unveiled in 1923.
It is a wall-mounted wooden tablet in black and gold at the west end of the
nave. At the top is a Crucifixion with two mourners.
The Memorial is 49½" high by 44" wide and bears 111 names.
There is no Second World War memorial – simply four medals in a display
case for Warrant Officer J R Sutton.
The text on the War Memorial reads as follows:
Remember the men of
Daybrook who gave
their lives in the
Great War
1914-1919
