The unveiling ceremony in 1920

The War Memorial in the churchyard was unveiled by Major Jarvis of Doddington Hall on 2nd October 1920

The inscription reads:

TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY OF WILLIE ALMOND GEORGE ALBERT BAYES CECIL DOVE THOMAS DOWMAN JOHN WILLIAM MEDLEY EDWIN JOHN NICHOLSON JOHN WILLIAM NOBLE GEORGE TOWNSEND WILLIAM GEORGE WITHERS WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-18 THIS MONUMENT IS ERECTED BY THE PARISHIONERS OF HARBY WITH SWINETHORPE

By the grace of God, all the men of Harby and Swinethorpe who fought in the Second World War returned home safely.

There is also a memorial plaque inside the church to Edwin John Nicholson, whose name is also included on the principal War Memorial.
