St Philip

Archaeology

The building comprises nave and sanctuary under one roof, and a small bell turret, dating from 1976, with an extension of 1996.

Prior to construction the site was agricultural fields and the position of the church lies close to the former Topvalley Farm. Consequently, below-ground archaeology may retain evidence from the previous farm use, perhaps including domestic material.

Construction is of red brick, timber, and glass, with a single sloping, felt roof.
