Clarborough St John the BaptistWar Memorial
The marble First World War memorial is on the west wall of the nave. The inscription reads:
JOHN WILLIAM BRIGGS
WILLIAM JOHN COBB
CHARLES GANT
JOHN HATCH
JOHN WILLIAM STEVENSON
ALFRED WELTON
THESE MEN OF CLARBOROUGH GAVE
THEIR LIVES FOR THE HONOUR AND
FREEDOM OF THEIR COUNTRY AND ALL
LANDS IN THE GREAT WAR, 1914-1918.
LET THEIR MEMORY AND EXAMPLE EVER
LIVE IN THE HEARTS OF THEIR
GRATEFUL COUNTRYMEN. |
Either side of the memorial are framed Rolls of Honour. The one on the south reads:
