War Memorial

The War Memorial

A marble memorial tablet is situated on the East wall of the Lady Chapel. This was refurbished as a War Memorial in 1921 by Revd Frank Cecil Day-Lewis. A memorial to those who gave their lives in World War II has since been added.

The Inscriptions read:

THIS CHAPEL WAS RESTORED
TO THE GLORY OF GOD
AND IN PROUD MEMORY
OF THE MEN OF EDWINSTOWE
CLIPSTONE AND CARBURTON
WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR
1914 - 1918
