Lady Bay All Hallows

Bells

Bell Gable turret for the bell

The single bell is housed in a brick-built west gable turret and has a diameter of 16.125" and weighs c.1 cwt.

The inscription around the bell reads 'J TAYLOR & CO FOUNDERS LOUGHBOROUGH' and probably dates from c.1898 when the iron church was erected here. A photograph of the church taken before 1906 shows a wooden bell turret over the west gable in which this bell no doubt hung.

It was rehung dead by Taylors in 1991 with a chiming clapper. Previously it was swing chimed.
