War Memorial

A three-part memorial to the men of the parish who died in World War II is located on the west wall on the right of the organ. The framed war memorial is flanked by two framed embroidered pictures. The text on the war memorial reads:

THE PARISH OF ST. AUGUSTINE MANSFIELD

IN PROUD THANKSGIVING AND

of those from this Parish who gave their lives in the

Service of their Country during the Second World War

Given in Memory of Fred and Edith White by their Daughter Barbara 6th December 1998.

On the right of the memorial is a framed embroidery depicting the silhouettes of two soldiers in embroidery with poppies both above and below, and the text ‘We will remember them’ and the dates 1914-2014. On the left the design is similar but the date is 1939-1945 and the text:

‘When you go home tell them that for their tomorrow we gave our today’

There is no specific memorial or list of casualties for World War I, because the church and parish of Bull Farm did not exist at that time.
