Elston Old ChapelChurchyard
There is no delineated churchyard. However the chapel sits within a clearly defined field of unusual shape having a curved southern-eastern section with straight north and west sides, all with hedge boundaries. The shape of the field, and its lack of similarity to any other surrounding fields, indicates that this was most probably formerly a property boundary for the chapel. The building sits centrally in the field but hard by the western boundary.
There are iron railings around the building at a very close spacing, which now mark the boundary of the chapel ownership.
