North Wall
Memorial to Mary Saunderson of Serlby who died in 1724:
Here Lyeth the Body of
MARY SAUNDERSON late of Serlby
in the County of Notingham. She was the
only Daughter of ROBERT SAUNDERSON
of Serlby Esqr and MARY his wife, by the
Death of her two Brothers ROBERT and
ANTHONY SAUNDERSON without
Issue, all the Estates of her Father descended
to her; She died unmarried and in her
ended the name and Family of SAUNDERSON
of Serlby: By her last Will and Testament
She left twenty Pounds Per Annum
for ever, to be Issuing out of the Lands
at Serlby, to be applied by Trustees in
the education of twelve Boys and twelve
Girls, at the Schoole of Harworth, from
five to twelve years of Age, and then
the Trustees to put them out to trades,
She died Greatly lamented
the 7th day of Decbr in the year of our
Lord 1724 in the 66th year of here Age. |
Joshua Waddington (died 1780):
JOSHUA WADDINGTON aged 69,
was Vicar here 17 Years,
and died 7th of Novr 1780.
Close by her beloved Husband
are deposited the remains of
ANN WADDINGTON,
who died Novr 25th 1806, aged 90.
Her nine surviving Children
here testify with sorrowing hearts,
that no attention, however dutiful,
no gratitude, however ardent,
could require the kindness of such a Mother. |
South Wall
Stephen Ferrand, who died in 1788:
SACRED
to the memory of STEPHEN FERRAND, Esqr.
of Blyth in this County,
who died the 5th day of March 1788 Aged 70.
He was the Son of the Revd THOMAS FERRAND
of Bingley in the County of York.
This Tablet was erected by his Sister
WADDINGTON,
as a memorial of her Affection
for a most excellent Brother. |
Henry Brown Woodcock (died 1833):
SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF
HENRY BROWN WOODCOCK,
OF STYRRUP NEAR THIS PLACE,
WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE ON THE
21ST DAY OF SEPTEMBER 1833,
AGED 58 YEARS.
ALSO IN MEMORY OF
SARAH, WIFE OF THE ABOVE
HENRY BROWN WOODCOCK,
WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE
ON THE 6TH OF FEBY 1840,
IN THE 61ST YEAR OF HER AGE. |
