Langar St AndrewClock
St
Andrew’s church clock was provided by the Nottingham company G and W
Cope in the late nineteenth century. It has one face on the south side of the
tower, just below the bell chamber and a second, larger face on the east side
of the tower, above the bell chamber. The clock mechanism operates by weights,
although it has recently been converted so that the weights are wound by an
electric motor. The main drive is to the lower clock face, with a system of
wires, passing through the bell chamber up to the larger face.
