For this church: |
Sneinton |
IN MEMORY OF THE REV. JOHN HENRY TAYLOR UNDER WHOSE CARE THIS CHURCH WAS BUILT AND WHICH HE SERVED AS FIRST VICAR 1910-1932 |
Records indicate that there was a memorial slab at the foot of the west wall of the church, with the inscription:
In loving memory of Sophia Jane Maddison Died 14th. March 1913 The above window is a token of her love for this church ‘She hath done what she could’ |
Another record indicates that a tablet existed in memory of William Watson. An employee of Nottingham City Transport, and a lay reader at St Christopher’s 1912-1925. The site of this tablet is not known.
It is assumed that both the above were either destroyed by the 1941 air raid or during the 1952 rebuilding.
