War Memorial

Stained glass in the east window was installed in 1921 as a memorial to the parishioners killed during the First World War. It was paid for by members of the Sunday School. It was totally destroyed in the 1941 bombing. A plaque acknowledging the destroyed window and those it commemorated was said to have been placed on the chancel wall after the rebuilding. There is however no trace of it today. No memorial to the parishioners who died in the 1939-1945 war is recorded. However, the names of several parishioners from both wars who lived in the parish are included on the memorial in nearby St Stephen’s.
