Bells

There is a small western turret containing one bell inscribed:

MEARS AND STAINBANK LONDON 1909

This is a bell by the Whitechapel foundry and it replaced an earlier one that had formerly been the sermon bell at Gedling and had been transferred when the present church was built. It is likely that this earlier bell was cast by William Noone in 1692.
