Stoke Bardolph St LukeGlass
The east window is the only one in the church to contain stained glass. It depicts St George and St Michael and commemorates Colonel George Fowler and the men of the Sherwood Foresters who were killed at The Hohenzollen Redoubt in October 1915. The inscription on the window reads:
To the Glory of God and in memory of
George Herbert Fowler, Colonel of
the 8th Battalion The Sherwood Foresters,
and of the men who fell with him
at The Hohenzollen Redoubt,
October 1915. Erected by his Mother. |
