Stonework

The church is largely a mix of ashlar and dressed rubble construction, probably from a quarry at nearby Castle Donington, with some granite from the Charnwood forest area. The roof is of Welsh slate with the exception of the chancel which is Swithland slate. It was reroofed in 1903.
