The churchyard appears originally to have been rectangular, orientated east-west with the church itself in the centre of the area. It has clearly been extended northwards, probably on two occasions with the latest extension being a tapering, triangular shape, well to the north of the church, bounded by agricultural fields.

The boundaries of the churchyard comprise a low stone wall to the east, a higher brick wall to the south, and trees to the west and east.

The churchyard contains three commonwealth graves.

Gunner Percy Townend (21) died 7 January 1918. He was in the Royal Field Artillery, 68th Bty. 14th Bde. He was the son of Mrs. Annie Jane Townend, of Courtwall Cottage, Lound, Retford.

Private Joseph Taylor (32) died 26th November 1918. He was in the Durham Light Infantry, 25th Bn. Transf. To 384th Agricultural Coy. Labour Corps.

Sergeant Kenneth James Shay (22), Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve died 27th August 1944. He was the son of William and Annie Shay of Doncaster, Yorkshire. He was a wireless operator for the 297 squadron
