Glass

There are three stained glass windows in the church.

Chancel

The east window depicts scenes from the nativity, the Crucifixion, the Ascension, and the three Marys at the tomb.

It is inscribed below:

TO THE HONOUR AND GLORY OF GOD AND HIS CHURCH JBA 1863.

The maker is not identified.

The west window of the chancel north wall is a single lancet light containing the figure of Christ holding a lamb and the inscription beneath reading:

TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY OF A
BELOVED SISTER AND MOTHER HELEN ELIZABETH
MATTHEWS DAUGHTER OF J&C WIGHTMAN OF THIS PARISH
WHO DIED SEPT 1898 DEEPLY REGRETTED

There is a maker's mark for T & W Ide of London in the bottom-left of the window.

Nave

In 1873 a stained glass window was installed in the south wall of the nave in remembrance of current vicar Justice Chapman’s father, the late Mr Chapman of Ordsall Lodge near East Retford. The window depicts St Luke in the centre with Christ feeding the hungry on the left and visiting the sick on the right. According to a contemporary report in the Nottinghamshire Guardian, the colouring was noted to be ‘rich and deep in tone’ and the composition ‘pleasingly balanced and arranged’.

It is inscribed below:

IN MEMORY OF GEORGE CHAPMAN
MAGISTRATE FOR THE COUNTY
OF NOTTINGHAM 1873.

The maker is unknown.
