Hayton St PeterChurchyard
Cartwright family grave
in the churchyard |
The churchyard, which lies to the west of the village surrounded by fields, is approximately square in shape, about 4,750 square metres in area. The church is offset to the east side, roughly central. There are burials on all sides with the earliest to the south. There is a large, railed enclosure to the north side of the church containing Cartwight family burials.
The boundaries of the churchyard comprise a low hedge on the north, abutting the road, and a mixture of hedges and fences throughout elsewhere. There are several mature and young trees both in the boundaries and on the south and east sides of the area.
