The Bishop of Southwell ask the Society of the Sacred Mission, an Anglican Order based at Kelham Hall near Newark, to nominate a priest; this arrangement continued until 1982

At one point the church also had three curates from the Society of the Sacred Mission and two nuns from the Anglican Convent of St Peter’s, Horbury, who worked as Lady visitors.
