Pleasley Vale St ChadGlass
All of the windows are of leaded lights with plain glass panes, with the exception of the west window which is of stained glass in three panels.
The centre panel contains a figure of St Chad, robed in episcopal vestments, holding in one hand a pastoral staff, and in the other hand the model of a church.
The side panels are filled with geometrical designs in leaded glass of rich colouring.
The inscription at the base of the window reads:
TO THE GLORY OF GOD IN THANKFUL REMEMBRANCE OF MARCH 19 1861 |
The windows show evidence of damage and repair in places and there is some recent damage following an attempt to remove security metal panels from the outside and damaging leadwork and glass to one of the nave windows on the south side of the church.
