The East Window
The stained east window is a memorial to Sherwin Gregory Esq, inserted by Mrs Sherwin Gregory and the tenantry. The main lights depict the passion and resurrection of Jesus, each with a scriptural quotation; from left to right:
Gethsemane - "Thy will be done" (Mt 6.10, but cf Mt 26.39 for context)
The way of the Cross - "He bearing his cross went forth" (Jn 19.17)
The crucifixion - "It is finished" (Jn 19.30)
The resurrection - "I am the resurrection and the life" (Jn 11.25)
The women at the tomb - "He is not here for he is risen" (Lk 24.6)
In the tracery are angels surrounding a lamb, with various other symbols of faith.
