Carrington St JohnOrgan
The previous organ, a 7.4.1. Father Willis, had been given by St John’s
Curate, the Rev H J F Burchell-Herne in 1873. It is now at St John
the Baptist, Colwick, and was purchased for that church for the sum of £350.
The
current instrument, a Roger Yates house organ, was purchased in 1949 and installed
by Hill Norman and Beard. The original specifications were:

The breadth of sound and antiphonal effects possible from a rosewood console
made this organ a pleasure to play. Regular maintenance has been given to the
church’s most valuable possession.
