Halloughton St James

Presented in 1902 by William Norton Hickling in memory of his father Sir William Hickling, a Nottingham businessman who lived at Brackenhurst Hall (subsequently sold to Nottinghamshire County Council in 1949 to be a Farm Institute).

Sir William established a herd of Shorthorn cattle which, under the management of his herdsman Lionel Bacon, became a nationally respected herd.
