Monuments and Memorials

In the middle of the north wall of the chancel is a brass commemorating John Whyley Chell who was killed in the Boer War and is dated 1902. The inscription reads:

FELLOW PARISHIONERS AND FRIENDS
IN TOKEN OF THIER APPRECIATION OF
HIS STERLING AND MANLY CHARACTER

Beneath this brass plaque is a tiled memorial to Alfred and Harold Chell respectively who died in October 1916 and August 1915. These are the sons of George Chell commemorated in the 1930 window. The memorial reads:

To the glory of God and in proud
memory of Alfred and Harold
Chell who died for God and the
Right in the Great War
