First World War Memorial

A plaque situated on the south wall of the south aisle. There are signs of a break and repair visible near the lower right-hand corner. It is inscribed as follows:

TO THE
GLORY OF GOD AND IN GRATEFUL MEMORY

WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR FOR FREEDOM

Additional First World War Memorial

A brass plaque, situated on the south side of the chancel archway, facing the nave. The plaque has a decorated border of oak leaves and acorns. The main inscription is below the Regimental badge, which is fixed onto the plaque. The inscription reads:

THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918

IN LOVING MEMORY
OF
WILLIAM LESLIE GRAY
2ND LIEUT 4TH SUFFOLK REGT
WHO WAS MORTALLY WOUNDED NEAR FLESQUIERES.
SEPT 27TH 1918
LAID TO REST IN GREVILLERS BRITISH CEMETERY.
FRANCE. SEPT 28TH 1918.
AGED 20 YEARS.

"LIVE THOU FOR ENGLAND · WE FOR ENGLAND DIED"

Second World War Memorial

A memorial plaque, sited on the window recess at the south-east end of the south aisle chapel. The inscription reads:

THIS CHAPEL WAS RESTORED
TO THE GLORY OF GOD
AS AN ACT OF THANKSGIVING
AND ALSO IN MEMORY OF

A.I. BUTLER		M. HADLEY
A.W. CHADBURN		W.B.N. LYNES
J. CLARK		J.C. MAYES
S.M. COWARD		R.F. NUNN
H. WRIGHT

WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE
SECOND WORLD WAR

There is another plaque on the south wall that reads:

WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE SECOND WORLD WAR 1939 – 1945

And all those who have died since in the service of our country.
