Pleasley Hill St Barnabas

Bells

There is a tower at the north-east corner of the nave containing one bell. This is 25.5” in diameter and weighs 3.1.21.

It is inscribed with the following:

* JOHN TAYLOR & CO * FOUNDERS * LOUGHBOROUGH * 1912 *

This particular bell replaced two small bells which had been in the tower weighing 0.3.19 and 1.1.2, together with a small 10” bell weighing 18 lbs.

The fittings are all by Taylors and comprise of a metal headstock, plan bearings and a wheel. The bell itself is hung in a wooden frame, Elphick type 'Z', Pickford Group 6.A, probably contemporary with the bell.
