The Rev William H. Cantrell (died 1890), who had been rector of Bulwell from 1865. The plaque was made by Cox and Sons and given by his wife’s family, the Suttons of Shardlow Hall, Derbyshire.

South Aisle

St George's Chapel is located at the east end of the south aisle. There are two monuments in the chapel.

On the east wall is a brass plaque detailing an annual bequest to the church from Thomas Hardy of Bulwell Hall.

On the south wall of the chapel is a plaque to John Newton (died 1820).

WHO DIED ON THE 25TH DAY OF
THE SAME MONTH OF
NOVEMBER 1820, AGED 58 YEARS.
THEIR MORTAL REMAINS
ARE DEPOSITED IN A VAULT
ON THE NORTH WEST
SIDE OF THIS CHURCH.

Further west is a plaque to Samuel Bolton of Hempshill who died 18 May 1832.

West Room

The West Room occupies the ground floor of westernmost two bays of the nave and aisles and the tower.

On the south wall is a memorial to John Fry Stanford who died in 1817.

Here lieth the Body of
JOHN FRY STANFORD
who died June 7th 1817,
Aged 43 Years.

He was the assiduous Friend of the poor,
And sought to promote the eternal welfare
of their children,
By habitual and diligent attention to their religious
instruction;
And both parents and children watered his grave
with their tears.
JESUS CHRIST was the alone Foundation of his hope;
And this hope sustained him amidst the agonies
of a dying hour,
By realizing to his soul a bright prospect
of eternal Glory.

Attached to a table top currently stored in the West Room is a plaque to members of the Large family:

Bulwell Parish Church.

North Aisle

At the west end of the north aisle is a monument to Private Richard Mills who died in India in 1912 while trying to save a colleague from drowning. The memorial was unveiled on 11 May 1913 by Major Burt of the 1st York and Lancaster Regiment.

The Lady Chapel is located at the east end of the north aisle. Here, on the north wall, is a tablet commemorating Lucy Elizabeth Reeve (died 1935).
