Plaques from the Basford Social Club

WWI plaque WW2 plaque

Shortly after the Basford Social Club closed in 2009 two plaques were discovered in the basement. The plaques list the names of 174 club members (all locals from Bulwell and Basford) who served in the armed forces during the two world wars.

A campaign was launched by Terry Haywood to save the plaques and have them restored. The restoration was by Sign Specialists Ltd of Redditch and the plaques were installed on the south wall of the south aisle of the church in 2011.

The First World War plaque is signed 'G. E. Bellamy, Writer, Carrington 1916.'

Second World War Roll of Honour

In the south porch there is a framed Roll of Honour for those parishioners who died in the Second World War.
