South Chancel
The tracery of the window in the south wall of the chancel is 14th
century Decorated style.
The 20th century stained glass depicts St
Nicholas and St Cecilia on either side of the Madonna and Child. It is
a memorial, inserted by Edith and George Briscoe, to a former Rector,
James Fuller Mills, and his wife Mary Ellen Mills.
The inscription (across all three lights) reads:
In the Faith of the Holy
for 56 years Rector of
who died 1st Febry 1898. |
Incarnation and in memory of
this Parish who died 22nd Novbr 1912

East Window
The tracery of the window in the east wall of the chancel is 14th
century Decorated style.
The 19th century stained glass depicts
the Ascension and was made by Messrs Ward & Hughes.
It is a memorial to Susannah Whetam, former Lady of the
Manor.
The inscription (across all three lights) reads:
DEDICATED TO THE GLORY
WHO DIED MARCH 22 |
OF GOD AND IN MEMORY
1870 AGED 90 BY HER |
OF SUSANNAH WHETAM
GRANDSON T H D BAYLY |
South Nave
The frame of the lancet window in the south wall of the nave is Early
English. The stained glass is by the Whitefriars Studio [note the drawing
of a monk low on the right hand side] and depicts St George.
The inscription
below it reads:

AND OF DUNCAN HIS SON

All other windows in the church glazed with plain glass in leaded panels.
