Monuments and Memorials

When Holy Trinity church was closed in 1956 the marble memorial tablets and brass plaques installed within the building were removed and deposited in the new Holy Trinity on the Clifton Estate. They were never erected in prominent positions within the new building, but fixed to the walls of the basement boiler room where, in 2013, they remain largely unseen and neglected.

Due to the small area of the boiler room, its use as a store for the many items the church needs to accommodate, and the poor lighting some of the memorials are not easily accessible for photography; some have also suffered the effects of a poorly ventilated and corrosive atmosphere.

The original location of the memorial is given where it has been possible to identify it from photographs or other sources.
