Chancel

On the north wall of the chancel is a classical style marble tablet to John and Ann Welby:

Sacred
to the Memory of
JOHN WELBY, Gent,
late of this Village,
Who departed this Life
 the 18th day of August 1779
Aged 71 years.
A Man
in whom every social and
 domestic Virtue were united

For
as he lived so he died, an example
worthy of Imitation.
Also of ANN, Relict of
 John Welby, Gent,
and Daughter of
Mr. Geo. WELBORN & CATHERINE
his Wife,
who died April 24th. 1780,
Aged 47 years.

On the south wall is a brass tablet to the Rev A W Wood (died 1887):

IN LOVING MEMORY
OF THE REV. A.W.WOOD, FOR
EIGHTEEN YEARS VICAR OF THIS PARISH.
BORN 25 APRIL 1823
DIED 18 NOVEMBER 1887.

Them also which sleep in Jesus

Classical Egyptian style marble and slate tablet to Elizabeth Beevor (died 1819) on the wall of the north aisle, signed 'Wallis and Marshall, Newark':

Sacred to the Memory of
ELIZABETH the Wife of JOHN BEEVOR,
 of Newark upon Trent.
She died 25 June, 1819, aged 23 years,
leaving two Infant Children, Henry & John.

Though hallowed by her parting prayer,
Her Sons exult in youth’s fair bloom;
Yet, left too soon, they ne’er can share,
The fond regret that haunts her Tomb.

Her Remains are interred in the cross Aile
 of this Church.

This Monument is erected to her memory
by her affectionate Uncle
HENRY HUGGINS.

Son of

He died the 17th of June 1824,
